*SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS DURING COVID*
I ordered take out from this place. My order came quickly and all my food was still so hot and fresh!
What I got:
-Shrimp boil: it came with a generous amount of shrimp! It lasted me 2.5 meals. It also came with a side of white rice. Overall, it was pretty good! I've been craving real shrimp you can peel and this pretty much satisfied my craving. My only "grow" for this dish is that it was a bit too salty. Although, I'm salt sensitive so it could have just been me.
-French fries: I mean, can you go wrong with fries?
I plan to order from them again in the near future! Maybe next time I'll try their burgers and pasta!
*SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS DURING COVID CRISIS* I ordered from this place intently to support a ?small business and they did not disappoint! I ordered soy fried chicken wings, japchae with a side of kimchi and steamed rice. My order also came with a coco pie. So cute and thoughtful! It brought a smile to my heart. Also, I ordered my food at like 5:00pm and they delivered at 5:40pm!
To the food -
Chicken Wings: 3.5/5! The flavor was all there. I wish the chicken was a bit more crispy!
Japchae: 5/5! Soo delicious. It was packed with bulgogi beef and veggies.
I work at San Jose State and whenever ?I'm craving rice and chicken, this is one of my go tos!
I typically just order the grilled lemon grass chicken with the chicken rice. It's nice and simple. What makes it even more tasty is the dipping sauce(soy sauce, lemon, and some other flavor) - it just reminds me of home! My only complaint is I wish there was more veggies on the side - I didn't think the ratio was enough in comparison to how much chicken was given.
After reading the reviews of this place, I've been wanting to go for the longest time and I finally made it in! What can I say, this place made its expectations for the most part!
What I ordered:
Tonkatsu Ramen with extra corn and black garlic oil.
-The fried chicken was only $6 and wow, it was an absolute deal! So many pieces!! The chicken was close to perfect. It was well seasoned, juicy and crispy! I'm so glad I had a friend with me - it helped control my portions. I would have otherwise eaten the entire thing!!
-The Ramen: It was love at first sip. The broth was nice and rich in flavor! After I had a couple of sips, I dumped the entire sauce dish of black garlic sauce into my soup and wow, it elevated the dish even more! The ramen also came with a good amount of spinach, 1 piece of seaweed, green onion and half an egg. I added an extra corn because I loveeee corn in ramen and they gave me a good amount! The pork slices were thick and nicely charred.
-The service was excellent. Everyone was tentative. We were basically in and out of that place in less than 40 minutes.
-Although I appreciate the large pieces of pork slices, it was a little too thick for me. I think if the thickness was 3/4 of the size, it would have been perfect. But that's just me!
Other things to keep in mind:
-The place has a very limited amount of seating. I personally appreciate it. I feel like it keeps the service quality.
-Since it's limited seating, you have to have a RSVP ahead of time. I've been meaning to go to this place for a while but haven't been able to go. Each time I wanted to, the only time slot they had available were awkward times! I was able to get a normal dinner time today - I booked my RSVP over a week in advance.
-They charge 15% service tip
-they apparently do take out which is AMAZING because next time I'm crazing fried chicken, I'm ordering from here!
I LOVE ice cream but I only restrict myself to going out to ice cream so every time I go it's such a treat! And YUM - going to Humphy's was such a treat!! Today was my first time at this location. There was a line but it went by pretty fast.
What I got:
-Harvey Milk: my absolute favorite and my typical go to. It's simple but the graham crackers elevate the ice cream.
-Salted Carmel with Cocoa Nibs: It was really good via tasting but as I had more and more of it, I got sick of it really quickly.
Tip: If you are lactose, you don't have a lot of non-dairy options. Today, there was only really one option.
I usually get regular milk tea but today was warm and wanted something on the colder side. I got the mango matcha(30% sweet) and YUMM so delicious!! Just the right amount of mango chunks, flavor and matcha. There wasn't one flavor that was more dominant than the other - literally a happy blend!
I've never had chiropractor work done to me because of the stereotype of getting your "bones" cracked. But being a professional who is constantly at my desk, I started to experience extreme back pain. A colleague finally convinced to see a chiropractor and recommended this place.
WHAT A GAME CHANGER! I've been adjusted by all of the doctors and every single one of them are different and unique to their own adjustments style. It's really hard to pin point who my favorite is!It really just depends on what you need at the moment. I'll review each of them.
Dr. Russell. He's great - he's really personable, I love the playlists he puts as background music(especially old school r&b!) and appreciate how he slowly transitions into adjustments. I appreciate his willingness to share ?exercises post-chiro treatment. ?He's really great to go to especially if you're new to the chiro game.
Dr. Drew. I've only been to him once. He's straight to the point but what I appreciate about him is how incredibly intuitive he is. He has a knack for looking at someones posture and being able to pin point what's needed in that moment. He's adjusted me in areas I didn't think needed adjusting!
Dr. Adam - I feel like he's a mixture of Dr. Russell and Dr. Drew. He'll ease you into the adjustment AND will get right into it at the same time. What I appreciate most about his style is how incredibly informative he is throughout the entire process. He'll ask questions, he'll point things out, and name the muscle and the issue. I'm anatomy geek - so I appreciated this!
Outside of the doctors, the staff is really kind and the facilitates are really clean!
Other things for you to consider:
-If you have never been here before, expect your first visit to be the longest. They do a general assessment before your adjustment.
-If you have health insurance, check to see if they can take it! You can add on a massage, etc. for a decent price.
-I've literally gotten adjusted during my lunch break. That's how efficient they are!
-If you're a woman and wear skirts/dresses, bring some tights to change into during your visit.
I would definitely come back for the Banh knot - they were so delicious! So crispy and filled with lots of good flavor!
The rice plate on the other hand was just okay. I thought the pork chop tasted rather greasy and egg roll was just decent.
I'll have to come back for another round - maybe I'll try something different!
I came here with a friend who doesn't eat seafood so this is coming from a non-seafood perspective. I honestly just thought the food was meh. It was good but it wasn't the best Chinese food where it warrants over 4 stars. If I come back, I'll re-write a review for my seafood experience.
What we got:
Combo fried rice: The great news is that it came with a fair amount of meat, the bad news -- outside of the flavor of the BBQ, there wasn't much flavor at all. There wasn't even any green onion!
Chicken chowmein: I thought it was meh ?- there was hardly any flavor as well.
Szechwan Beef: It was tasty - a good portion of meat and veggies ?but in my ?opinion there was too much sauce. It almost over powered the meats and veggies.
Veggie Spring rolls: I mean, you can really mess this one up!
The true test to a ?good boba shop is if they can make an original milk tea correctly and that's what I ordered. It was sadly underwhelming. ?The sweetness in the honey boba was just okay but what was no good was how they cooked the boba - it was wayyy too chewy for me. ?I had the oolong tea ?with light sweetness - the flavor was just lacking for me. I couldn't taste the oolong at all.
I think theI'll come back again and try one of their specialties. But ordering an original milk tea was a no go for me.
